By eating a healty diet you can reduce your risk of many chronic diseases
while increasing your energy and stamina.
Take Time to chew your food
Digestion begins in the mouth.
Chewing food thoroughly breaks it into smaller pieces and mixes the
food with saliva that contains digestive enzymes. Thorough digestion is critical for
absorption of nutrients and to good health. In today’s hectic world we
tend to rush through our meals, forgetting to taste and the flavors, feel
the textures and reconnect with the joy of eating.
Avoid stress while eating
When we are stressed the digestion process can be hampered. Avoid eating while working, driving
or watching TV. Also avoid
confrontations, serious discussions or worry during meals.
Stop just before feeling full
It takes a few minutes for your brain to realize that your stomach is full,
so eat slowly and stop before feeling completely full. So eating just enough to satisfy
your hunger will help you remain alert, relaxed and feelin your best.
Always eat a good breakfast
Starting your day with a healthy breakfast can jumpstart your metabolism,
and eating the majority of your daily caloric intake early in the day gives
you enough time to burn off the calories of the day.
